Toodyay

Today Ang decided to take me for a drive to Toodyay (pronounced Toojay). This proved to be a quaint little Australian town about 40 minutes away from Stoneville.

Apparently in Toodyay you don't need psychics because the first shop we walked into the shopkeeper started telling both of us what was in our futures. I am apparently ‘going to move and be vary happy,” and Ang has to listen t other people and not be so stubborn! I started laughing out loud at Angela’s face  when the shopkeeper stared saying this! All this looking into our futures was with no invite or encouragement from either of us.

It was getting extremely hot again so I was wearying pretty fast at this stage.

The next shop was even weirder. The shop keeper in this junk shop come antique shop that had a huge range of disconnected jumble in it was to exclaim to Angela when she paid in coins for a tea-cosy hat that I thought was weird enough itself that she loved getting paid in coins. She went on to expel the if you get a jar and put $1 in it the first week of the year, $2 the second week, $3 the third week and so on you will have $1142 by the last week of the year!

I had had enough of the shops by then and firmly declined Ang's suggestion that we venture into the “local produce and art shop.”

Instead we went or a drive up to the lookout and got some shots of this little town in the middle of the wheat belt.

And it was time to head back to an afternoon in the pool again.
